Pondering

Endless waiting, nail bitingly watching The news looping in the background. Questions lingering, supposed answers given Advice that we are told is sound Standing in queues, 2 meters apart Only needing the bare essentials The shelves are barren, panic driven madness Stockpiling in our residential s The empty streets, my car suspension creaks She hasn't been driven in an age The runners running, time is turning Waiting until we can turn a page Our defenders stand tall, valiant and brave Shields made of plastic and cloth A formless enemy, our soldiers not so plenty Enduring the endless, tireless wroth Our politicians stand, behind their podium booths Telling us to”Take it on the chin” Is it really fair, that the innocent and vulnerable Should pay for such a sin The people are restless, minds left to rot Paranoia is settling in fast Heads spin at coughing, all of us wondering Just how long will this last The hospitals are ...

Self Isolation.

Self Isolation Its a term that im sure everyone reading this will be all to familiar with, and terrified by the sight of it. As I write this, the date is April 2 nd 2020, and the world has just went to utter shit. COVID19 is ravaging through the world, destroying health care systems and at this point has claimed the lives of almost 50,000 people across our tiny, fragile globe. The scariest part is the fact that its not even truly begun here in the UK yet, especially in sunny ol' Scotland. Normal day to day life as we know it, for the most part, has halted to a stop. Shops, restaurants and bars have been forced to close. Social distancing is the new norm, as im sure it will be for a time yet. Only leaving the house for essential supplies and one form of exercise. And like I said this is only the beginning. Who knows what the UK will look like in another months time. There is so much irony in it all though.
